About Live Projects
Live projects are a leading educational initiative at Sheffield's School of Architecture. Architecture students work in groups on a 6 week Live Project with a range of clients including local community groups, charities, health organisations and regional authorities. In some cases the projects involve actual building, in others design of urban masterplans, in others consultation exercises. In every case, the project is real, happening in real time with real people.

Lighting experiments with huge torches
Workbench frame designed to reuse waste oak spotted at Portland Works. The next step will be to get some tenant advice on how best to make it eg, timber joints?
Plaster casting of objects around the workshops. These will lead to concrete floor slabs that will help direct visitors around the works.
